I am working on a couple of paintings. In the lower painting I have added color in the boats and now will be adding more detail to the overall scene. In the landscape I have established light and dark areas and a color scheme. I want to avoid becoming too detailed in this painting and allow
for a more painterly approach.

New Projects

I'm planning a few new paintings in the coming days. A new mountain landscape, Seascape, and one which I have a quick color sketch previewed. In these quick studies I am not stressing detail, but establishing dark and light values in the painting. I am using a combination of Hookers green and cadmium Red for the darks. I plan to use a fairly intense red for the lower third of this painting.

Wheat Field and Blue Fence

This new original painting is an impressionistic color study in predominately blue and yellow values with touches of purple, green, and red. The outline of the fence creates a graphic design to overlay the yellow background.
